Worship With Us

Sunday School • 9:45 AM
Worship Service • 11:00 AM

What to Expect

On Sunday mornings, expect to be greeted by eager members when entering the main doorway (facing Erskine drive) up to 15 minutes before worship starts at 11am. A church member will provide you with a bulletin detailing the order of worship and if needed, just outside the door to the sanctuary are worship bags available for children to use during service. You will then be invited to take a seat in the sanctuary where you can read about upcoming events and information on the TV screens.

Just before the worship hour, the musical prelude will begin and our choir will enter the loft. Shortly after, a church staff member will offer the welcome and announcements. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about current church activities and missions. Instruments will then play as everyone stands to greet those around them.

At a typical worship service at Covenant, you will find sound Biblical preaching and anthems presented by the adult choir. We use the Baptist hymnal along with projected screens showing song lyrics. Our singing is usually accompanied by piano and pipe organ. Handbells are often part of our worship service and the children’s choir and Men’s Ensemble also help lead in worship music quarterly.

Music Ministry

Covenant Baptist Church offers a variety of ensembles which support a vibrant music ministry. The Adult Choir sings each Sunday and on special occasions to enhance worship times. Our children's choir sings and makes music with instruments while learning music fundamentals. An adult handbell choir provides beautiful handbell music for worship.

Tuesday Evening: Weekly Men’s Ensemble Rehearsal
Wednesday Evening: Weekly Adult Choir Rehearsal
Sunday Morning: Handbell Practice as scheduled

Sunday School

Bible study at Covenant begins at 9:45 am every Sunday morning. Classes are provided for each age group—from bed babies to senior adults. Our classes provide excellent teachers and class members are always striving to minister to their members as well as reaching out to others in the community. Come and find a class that best suits you!

In addition, the Sunday School program at Covenant Baptist Church includes other activities. Occasionally, a church-wide breakfast is served in the Fellowship Hall prior to all adults meeting together for a joint Sunday School lesson. Mission activities, such as collecting toiletries for the local women’s shelter or serving meals at Salvation Army, are sometimes undertaken by individual classes or by all of the classes combined. There are opportunities for fellowship across Sunday School classes through events such as bowling and a back-to-school ice cream social.
